Mentoring is an important tool that will be an integral part of the new United Synergies’ Youth Connections program. Youth Connections provides a safety net for young people who have disengaged or are at risk of disengaging from education, offering flexible case managed support and services that recognise the role that family and community play in a young person’s wellbeing and development.

Training Process of Mentors Mentors undertake an accredited training course facilitated by the United Synergies' Youth Connections Coordinator.

Screening Process of Mentors: Mentors are appropriately screened and interviewed by program staff. Mentors are required to obtain a Blue Card.
Mentor Position Description: A mentor is matched with a young person as identified by the Youth Connections Coordinator case manager. The mentors task is to be a positive role model and support person. One-on-one mentoring relationships, connecting young people with wise and insightful volunteer mentors from the local community is an important tool that will be used in the new Youth Connections program.
Mentor Minimum Commitment: Six to twelve month commitment.
