Skillset provides targeted mentoring to Australian Apprentices and Trainees with the aim of ensuring their successful progression through their Australian Apprenticeship.

Training Process of Mentors All mentors undertake training in Cultural Awareness, Youthsafe, Train the trainer, Mental Health First Aid, Oz Help Mentoring Workshop, Suicide Prevention Workshop; understanding Generation Y & other training as appropriate.
Mentor Screening: Yes, screening is provided for mentors
Screening Process of Mentors: All Mentors undertake a working with children check, an identification check and a reference check.
Mentor Position Description: Skillset Mentors provide a 12 month mentoring relationship with apprentices or trainees. They meet in accordance with an agreed plan. At each meeting the mentor and mentee participate in a guided conversation. The aim of this mentoring is to aid apprentices to complete their apprenticeship.
Mentor Minimum Commitment: Skillset Mentors are full time employees of Skillset.
