The Junior Top Blokes Mentoring Program is an interactive schools program that harbours an early intervention peer-led mentoring approach for young men aged 14-17. With facilitators and mentors aged under 30, participants explore various social topics that the participants may be dealing with. The program fosters a positive culture of healthy decision-making and rewards young men for demonstrated community leadership through volunteering. This program is a direct response to the growing trends of anti-social behaviour, social and community isolation and higher incidences of mental health issues among young men aged 12-18. The over all program aims are to link adolescent males with positive male role models and building mentoring relationships, to increase the emotional and social resilience of participants and to increase a young males confidence and awareness in seeking professional health services and community organisations.
