To support young people remain connected with learning and living through a one on one relationship with a volunteer community mentor.

Program Details

Mentoring is a more experienced person supporting a less experienced one. Mentoring is one on one and takes place in school. However group mentoring is also an option as long as mentees share similar goal. As a mentor we try to help people to become self confident and independent. Often mentoring is designed to support someone through a transition or major challenge in their lives. Mentoring schemes can vary greatly in aims and organisation. Each one will be designed with particular aims in mind.

Mentor Training: Yes, training is provided for mentors
Training Process of Mentors Volunteers from the community are trained by a trained teacher. Contact Berkley Vale High school for more information regarding time & date.
Mentor Screening: Yes, screening is provided for mentors
Screening Process of Mentors: During the course you will have WORKING WITH CHILDREN check also a police check.
Mentor Position Description: You need Ethics and Values Integrity: Communicating: Understanding: Role model: Reliable and Trustworthy.
Mentor Minimum Commitment: You would nee to commit to giving 1 - 2 hours one day a week.
