Mentor Position Description: The Mentoring Program provides the opportunity for adults who are positive role models to build and nurture a relationship with a young person by offering guidance, support and encouragement to help develop the young person's character, confidence and competencies. Mentors are men and women from many different cultural, social & occupational backgrounds, spending time with their young person on a regular basis to help the young person achieve their personal goals. The following qualities are required in all mentors:

  • Understanding
  • Perseverance
  • A high level of commitment
  • Life Experiences
Mentor Minimum Commitment: Mentors are required to commit to a minimum one year period. Mentors usually volunteer 2-3 hours per week or fortnight to engage with their young person by phone, email and where appropriate face to face.
